Chi Hsi (Qixi) is the chinese counterpart of the Valentines Day. Based on the ancient tale of two lovers who were not supposed to be together but can do so on the seventh night of the seventh moon, once a year. The magpies which we used as the main visual, form a bridge in the heavens so the two can meet. For the detailed story please consult here. Tainan’s Chi Hsi has two sub-events, which separately focus on the cultural and the commercial side of the festival.
